‘Sherlok & DJ Rubz’ are one of the most dynamic & entertaining
Hip Hop/Reggae-Dancehall duos to come out of the South East suburbs of Melbourne.

DJ Rubz is the main Beat Maker Technician/DJ/Producer who brings his influences of Rasta Music to the table. While Sherlok is the MC/Song Writer/Co-Producer. Both were originally part of legendary Melbourne Hip Hop trio ‘Wicked Mindz’ consisting of DJ Rubz, Troy & Sherlok, who later became known as ‘Scarz on 45’. As Wicked Mindz they gained national exposure on commercial radio on the Austereo Network’s rating topper – ‘Ugly Phil’s & Jackie O’s Hot 30’. The guys were enlisted as regular writers & performers of crazy rap jingles that blasted through the airwaves, creating a nation-wide recognition of there sound.
‘Wicked Mindz’ made their mark on national television, performing on ABC’s ‘Recovery’ in late 1998. Host, Dylan Lewis, loved the performance so much that he added it to the shows live compilation CD, ‘Ready For Transmission’, making them the only unsigned act to feature on the album. They also did some work with the production team of RnB singer/actress ‘Aaliyah’ before her tragic passing.
In 2000 made a fresh start with group ‘Scarz on 45’ & released their with critically acclaimed debut album titled ‘Skin Graft’. They enjoyed great reviews in The Herald Sun, Sanity Mag, Beat Mag & most local Urban/Hip Hop street press. A selection of ‘Scarz on 45’ tracks were played on Triple J, RRR & PBS fm. Through the many years of performing as part of groups ‘Wicked Mindz’ & ‘Scarz on 45’,
SHERLOK & DJ RUBZ have supported some of the biggest international Hip Hop acts to have toured Australia.

From 1995 –1997 DJ Rubz is a 3x Victorian DMC World DJ Champion.
And in more recent years Sherlok has been the charismatic host of the ‘Australian DMC DJ Championships’ alongside MC Reason of ‘Obese Records’.
After all these years Sherlok & long time friend & Co-Producer DJ-Rubz still work as a tight production team. They are now ready to release their single ‘Summertime Feelin’ taken from their debut album which will be entitled ‘Life Wheel Elixir’
It will change the way people perceive Australian Hip Hop forever with Sherlok’s authentic & honest lyrics, and innovative quality production skills of DJ Rubz.
Their sound is a blend of Hip Hop/Funky Soul & Reggae-Dancehall.
